1 серия. Ледовое побоище. После победы над шведами в устье Ижоры Александр Невский дал отпор новой попытке Запада покорить Новгород и Псков на льду Чудского озера. После того как был уничтожен передовой отряд новгородцев, Александр отступил на лед Чудского озера для решающей битвы. Ударами русской конницы с флангов немецкие рыцари были разгромлены и вынуждены бежать.

2 серия. Битва на Куликовом поле. Применение грамотных тактических приемов князем Дмитрием позволили одержать победу над знаменитой татарской конницей — она была загнана в реку и там перебита. В результате разгрома основных сил Орды ее военному и политическому господству был нанесен серьезный удар. Эта битва дала и множество примеров самоотверженного мужества русских воинов.
